Artists Carol Marine loses home and studio in fire inTexas

Carol and David and their 6 yr. old son Jacob lost their home in a terrifying fire yesterday out near Bastrop, Texas. Their entire subdivision was wiped out (up to 300 homes) and the fire is still spreading – it’s currently 16 miles long, 6 miles wide, has covered over 30,000 acres and is moving south towards another town. Today’s forecast of more high winds is bad news for surrounding areas. [UPDATE: A neighbor confirmed late Monday afternoon that nothing of their home survived. It's just dirt and ashes.]

Lilies for Brandy

My daughter who is an extraordinary amateur decorator, asked me to do a painting for her. She was looking for a simple yet elegant painting of Cala lilies. I found this project exciting and I enjoyed the simplicity and elegance of it. I also tremendously enjoyed seeing my daughter, son and grand daughter, being able to be there when Brandy graduated from this phase of her college degree was a something that I was so honored to be a part of. I am so very proud of my smart, beautiful daughter who is becoming such a wonderful woman. Brandy, I love you.
This painting is an acrylic on canvas. It is 12" x 24"
