Our new puppy

Ahh the joys of having a little puppy in the home... This little guy who does not have a name yet is an adventure. He is like a little baby who has his days and nights mixed up. He was sleepy during the first two days with us, then all of a sudden last night he came to life. 1:00 am mind you.. lolol I am awaken by his barking and growling at Boltz the cat in an attempt to get him play. Then Boltz is hissing and growling and chasing  the puppy. Is he daunted? No, not one little bit!
Puppy sees that I am awake and he bounds over to me barking and wanting to play. He grabs up a small throw rug and begins to wrestle it. Barking, growling, rolling, having a grand ole time. This goes on for at least an hour, playing with his rope, playing with the rug, tugging James boots into the living room, tugging on my blankets, he is just going and going until all of a sudden he hit the floor exhausted and what does he do? He finally falls into a dream filled slumber and all is finally quite and I can finally find my way back into the dream world..... Such are the joys of a puppy, sure hope he sleeps tonight.😉

Here kitty, kitty, kitty

WIP of a very pretty kitty.....

My new friend

Say hello to my new little friend, he spent the first day unsure of what had happened to him. He seemed to say what is this strange place? We have not decided upon a name yet, but I like Jacob and Samson, I think they are good strong names for a strong little guy. I am watching him lay in the floor in front of the couch where James is laying, they are both napping. The little guy woke up this morning wanting to play, he seemed to be saying, I am okay and I think I will like it here.

The birth of a painting

A painting starts with a concept or idea, sometimes a desire to honor another. This painting began its life as a desire to honor one parents. These are the parents of a client who follows my work on facebook. This will be a Christmas present for his parents who have been together over 50 years.

Grandma's cards

Grandmas are God’s gift to young women, they love us unconditionally. Grandmas have a free hand from the day to day molding that helps us grow; they get to just love us. This artist remembers her Grandma as a feisty little woman who was just less than 5’ tall. She loved marigolds and had them planted all around her home. My Grandma really was no more remarkable than any other Grandma, but to me she was the strongest symbol of proof that I was loved. No matter where I roamed my dearest Grandma would find me and make sure that I got that birthday card. God welcomed her home a few years ago and I must say that I truly miss those cards.
This is me and my grandma Mildred Moulton, I painted this in honor of her and love she always sent to me on this day!

Stumpy

Stumpy was such a character, he always ran through the house like there was so much drama going on. He loved to play with his rope toy, tugging and grabbing. Everyday when I got home he would run to greet me and jump in the vehicle to say hello and give me kisses. He loved to go in the woods with James to go hunting for roots and stuff. They would spend the whole day out in the woods.
Stumpy used to curl up on my lap when I slept in my chair, sometimes he would stay there the biggest part of the night. I tried my best not to interrupt him because I so much loved him lying there.
We love you dear little boy, I know you are out romping the woods with our dear Bear, say hello to my Scottie when you see him in doggie heaven......

stumpy

In February 2013 this dear sweet pup came to live with us and ease our heartache over losing our big sweet Bear.

We named him Stumpy because he had such short little legs,

Spring activity

It has been a long time since I have been on here, I was just realizing that I really need to start keeping up with my blog better than this...
May has been a very busy month, I have something planned for every Saturday, I attended heritage days in Olive Hill, went to a song writing workshop taught by Larry Cordle, I will be participating in the first Elliott county art competition this coming Saturday and I will be face painting for the Isonville fire department's Bluegrass and more event on the last Saturday of the month, then o my goodness it starts all over in June, right now I know I have the Day in the Country festival in Morehead, I love being busy....
O and don't miss my interview on KET, Kentucky life,
